The
dry-land portion of our program consists of many components: Video
Review, Exercises, Games, Group Conversations, Lunch
Video
Review:
In a small group setting,
each goaltender reviews their own video (recorded during the
morning on-ice session), with an instructor. While providing a
different perspective, students can see first hand what they are
doing wrong, but more important, what they are doing right
throughout the drill. The video review also helps instructors
maintain a daily evaluation of each goaltender, which is
recorded in the student’s booklets. |

|
Exercises:
Throughout the week students will
be exposed to various dry-land exercises which will help develop their
flexibility, hand & eye coordination, and reflexes. Goaltenders will
come to realize that dry-land training is a very important part of their
on-ice game.
Games:
Indoor and outdoor games are played
throughout the week, which helps promote exercise and fun.

|
|
Group Conversations:
Often during free time or lunch, instructors will spark up conversations
related to the game of hockey. Topics would range from equipment
maintenance to mental and physical preparations.
|

|
Lunch:
Lunch
time is a very important part of our program. This is a supervised time
when students can refuel their bodies and relax. Whether it is watching
videos, playing cards, or hanging out with friends.
|
 |
In Addition:
Optional Parent Seminar is
held the first day. Parents can learn whether or not their goaltender is
wearing the proper equipment (assessed during the morning session). This
is followed by a Q&A period.
