About Muskoka Goalie School

The Muskoka Goalie School (MGS), began in January of 1996 and originally operated as a winter clinic from the Bala Arena. Bart Tompsett, who started the Clinic, provided a program that enabled young goaltenders to come and learn the game on a weekly basis. Wanting to provide a program that was more intense, with much success, Bart started a summer goalie school at the Bracebridge Memorial Arena in August that same year.

Bart’s Philosophy on Goaltending

I feel that every goaltender who visits my school has their own unique style of goaltending. With this in mind, it is essential that I and my team of instructors find their strengths and weaknesses,
so that they may continue to enhance their skills.
